John got back to me very quickly and was able to provide a quote, advice on the light fitting and a flexible start so arranged for next day. He turned up on time and was extremely knowledgeable and professional with his work. The previous fitting was challenging with some questionable wiring but it was all sorted out and now very happy with the finish. Andrew is a nice guy and does quality work, but for kitchen tiling I am afraid to say is very slow; approx 4 tiles per hour (100x200mm) or 0.8 sq m a day (10 hours). I personally (a diy'er) can do 15 tiles an hour - i.e. 4 times faster. £250 at day is expensive. (My electrician is £175 a day) I ended up capping the job at £600 and decided to complete tiling and grouting myself after 3 days. I would not have hired Andrew if I knew he was this slow and as a result expensive.
